| Varvel dazzles in The Swashbuckler Half Ironman |

Mel Varvel is becoming used to winning ways but had a real challenge last Sunday. Not only did she have to defeat a gruelling half Ironman course but also had to cope with probably the hottest day of the year.
Competing in the Swashbuckler Half Ironman, Mel had a steady swim then stormed round the bike course to record the 3rd fastest bike leg then straight into the run with the second fastest run leg.
2nd female overall and 1st in her category in a dazzling time of 4 hours 42 minutes 54 seconds.
Great result and fantastic preparation for the Ironman Switzerland. With only 9 weeks left Mel will have a short recovery week then straight back into Ironman training |
